Small Business Spotlight: Meet Clover Island Inn

Local Business SpotLight!

Kennewick’s only waterfront hotel can be found on Clover Island in Historic Downtown Kennewick!

Just because you're practicing social distancing and staying home is keeping you from visiting downtown Kennewick at the moment, doesn’t mean you can’t discover your new favorite local business!

We want to introduce you to all the local businesses in our community. This series is all about highlighting the various local businesses in downtown Kennewick, to help you get to know our local merchants!

Meet the crew at Clover Island Inn & the Crows Nest:

“It’s An Island Thing!”

Yes, that’s right. Kennewick DOES have an island! Clover Island, so named for the wild sweet clover that used to grow on the islands and were harvested by the Native Peoples who traditionally inhabit the Columbia River Plateau region. In 1907 Clover Island was part of five small islands that were 21.8 acres of land within the middle of the Columbia River

Major change came to the island in 1953, when the Army Corps of Engineers built Ice Harbor and McNary Dams that raised the level of the river and flooded the island. The Port of Kennewick raised, graded and reshaped the island.

Today, the island is home to restaurants, the Port of Kennewick, a public Marina, lots of public art, and The Clover Island Inn. Clover Island Inn is Kennewick’s only waterfront hotel!

Opened in 2001 by the current ownership group, the Clover Island Inn hotel is independently owned by respected business owners throughout the Tri-Cities.

Being locally owned makes for the very best in guest service and care! They earn their reputation for the personalized service that they give each individual and group that makes the Clover Island Inn their home away from home.

They are open during the COVID-19 pandemic and they are an easy and scenic walk, bike ride, drive to the heart of historic downtown Kennewick. More then just a place to stay or hold your special or professional event, Clover Island Inn is also home of the Thunder on the Island Concert Series. Sometimes, they even hold outdoor, drive-in movies and other fun outdoor events. Did you know they are the home of the Annual Mid Columbia Pirate Festival?!

Here at HDKP, we think that their banquet rooms and Crows Nest Restaurant have the best views of the Columbia River and Tri-Cities!

An insider tip is to order the Monte Cristo Sandwich when it is on the menu!

Clover Island is an amazing partner and supporter of the downtown Kennewick community. They are Main Street Tax Credit contributors to the Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership and are often happy to be a sponsor for family and community events in Kennewick and around the Tri-Cities.
