Local Business SpotLight!

DownTown Mercantile located at 116 W. Kennewick Ave

Just because you're practicing social distancing and staying home is keeping you from visiting downtown Kennewick at the moment, doesn’t mean you can’t discover your new favorite local business!

We want to introduce you to all the local businesses in our community. This series is all about highlighting the various local businesses in downtown Kennewick, to help you get to know our local merchants!

Meet the ladies behind the DownTown Mercantile, Lisa Taylor-Coburn and Sandra Bryant

Lisa and Sandra loved to create and craft and had been doing it for so long, that they needed a place to sell it all! They had talked about opening a store one day and that day finally came. Now they showcase their work for you and those who travel to the Tri-Cities and find themselves in Downtown Kennewick perusing the storefronts.

Located at 116 W Kennewick Ave, Lisa and Sandra opened Downtown Mercantile a year ago. These two ladies used to be neighbors and became fast friends with their shared passion for art and creativity. Lisa Taylor-Coburn and Sandra Bryant run this unique fun shop that features a wide selection of different vendors who sell a huge assortment of delightful treasures that include antiques, vintage clothing, jewelry, furniture, custom signs, rocks and stones and so much more.

Lisa used to work as a correctional officer with the judicial system and Sandra is a nurse and works for a professional case management organization one day a week. While neighbors, their passion grew for art and their creativity couldn’t be contained! Lisa loves to paint and decorate and Sandra makes beautiful, unique jewelry. You can see her creations showcased on their Facebook page.

Check out the cute “corona bugs” made out of vintage jewelry and Corona beer cans! It could be a unique and playful gift for the women in your life for this upcoming Mother’s Day!

“I love a place to teach jewelry making and I love doing custom work,” says Sandra. Once quarantine is over they plan to offer some classes in jewelry, painting, and other crafts.

Their store also has fusion mineral paint for furniture and home decor if you are feeling crafty or itching to DIY while you social distance.

Thank you Sandra and Lisa for choosing downtown and being one of the many business owners we have the pleasure of meeting and working with throughout the year. If you would like to help Downtown Mercantile or are in need of some retail therapy check out their Facebook page where they list many options of products available for purchase with curbside pick up and also deliveries!
