Although, the Tri-Cities is nearly a desert (fewer than a dozen inches of precipitation each year), it's located at the confluence of three rivers – the Columbia, Snake and Yakima. And thanks to dams that provide the region's hydropower and irrigation water, the Columbia and Snake are, in some places, more like huge, long, inland lakes than rivers.
The rivers provide a variety of outdoor recreation possibilities, including water sports -- swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, windsurfing, kiteboarding -- as well as enjoying the very long parks and walking and bike paths along the river.
Off the river, you'll also find casinos, a bowling alley, and a comedy club — there’s always something to do in Historic Downtown Kennewick!
