In Memory of Ann Steiger

The world and our community lost a remarkable, wonderful, passionate woman.

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Ann Steiger. Ann was a champion and a fierce advocate for Downtown Kennewick. She owned the historic Roxy Theater building and operated Roxy Theater Antiques & Gifts. She created a warm and welcoming gathering place in her building that attracted Downtowners and visitors alike. Ann was an active volunteer, serving on multiple downtown committees and as an HDKP Board Member. In 2010, Ann was honored as the Kennewick Downtowner of the Year. The impact that Ann had on the downtown is profound and undeniable.

Ann welcomed and mentored new businesses and business owners to the downtown. She incubated new businesses and artists within her building. Ann inspired and pushed those around her to be and do better.

Ann will be missed, but her legacy will live on and continue to make waves in downtown because the women and men she inspired, will continue to innovate and work hard for greatness and community.

Ann was a mentor to HDKP Staff. Ann was the best person to bounce wild ideas of off in a way that could transform intangible ideas into actionable tasks. Ann showed us how to have tough conversations and to speak up, even when our voice might waver. The wisdom and advice that she freely gave will always be treasured.

Ann leaves behind a legacy of community, strength, beauty, and hospitality. We promise to never stop striving to emulate her example.

Thank You Ann. We Love and Miss You.
